Lateral Ear Resection
by Deb ~ April 14th, 2010I have actually used this proceedure on Olivia our 5 yr old black standard poodle. For 3 years she had seriouse ear infections in one ear. We did everything ointments, antibiotics, cleaning solutions galore, diet changes, you name it we did it, but they would always come back. My vet at Conrad Vet Hospital in Conrad MT (Dr. Wade Spears) suggested a lateral ear resection….reluctantly but for the sake of Olivias health we went ahead with the proceedure and thank God not one ear infection in over a year. I have included a link that explains the proceedure, and im sure Conrad Vet Hospital would be glad to answer questions and perhaps confer with your vet on this proceedure….Good Luck Poodle Friends!!! http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_lateral_ear_resection.html

Healthy Chews
by Deb ~ March 29th, 2009A Healthy Dog Treat
Along with the regular dog chew treats that my standard poodles babies love, I also have found that a geat healthy alternative is carrots…thats right carrots. I have tried this and believe me they LOVE them. Its always nice to reward your canine baby with a healthy chew treat, so next time you are tempted to give a rawhide treat try offering a carrot instead your pet will thank you.
